Overview ISKCON Mayapur:

ISKCON Mayapur is a popular Vaishnavite pilgrim centre founded by Bhakti saint Vinod Thakur. It is believed that Lord Krishna’s incarnate Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was born here in 1486 AD. ISKCON Mayapur is famous for Chandrodaya Temple (first temple established by ISKCON in ISKCON Mayapur), Samadhi of Prabhupada (temple dedicated to the founder of ISKCON), Shree Chaitanyamath (the birth place of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu), Goswami Maharaj Temple of Dashavatar and Chand Kazi’s Samadhi. Located on the banks of confluence of Hooghly river and Jalangi.ISKCON Mayapurr is a religious centre and one of the nine dhams of the 9 holy islands. The 9 islands together looks like an eight-petaled lotus flower and are called Navadwipa which was earlier capital of Bengal. The islands are centered on Antardvipa (ISKCON Mayapur) and are a part of ISKCON Mayapur Township. Navadvipa is a famous temple town with about 185 temples. It is a place where all beliefs, Shaiva, Vaishnava and Buddhist converge and exist in harmony.

Standing at the junction of river Ganga and Jalangi,Mayapur is a beautiful city with lovely weather.
It is near to the Krishnanagar city junction in Nadia in West Bengal. Distance between Krishnanagar to ISKCON Mayapur about 20 Kms.
From Howrah:Many local and express trains touch Navadvipa railway station.
From Sealdah/ Kolkata Station:Many local and express trains touches Krishnanagar railway station. Many buses and cars are available from Krishnanagar station to Mayapur.
From Siliguri:Many NBSTC  buses & private bues are available to Krishnanagar.Many cars & buses are available from Krishnanagar bus terminal to ISKCON Mayapur.

There is an eating joint located inside the temple complex which serves very hygienic and reasonably priced food. It mostly serves snacks throughout the day and it also serves vegetarian Thali during lunch and dinner. Other than this you can also relish simple, local Bengali cuisine as well as popular items of international cuisine in the area.

There are many hotels around the temple complex which serves reasonably priced food but it is highly recommended to have lunch in the Temple premesis. God’s offerings are most attractive food in this temple.
Beside NH -34 has many hygienic hotels & dhabas and reasonably priced food.
NipoBethi is the most popular hotel beside the NH-34.

Year-round, however summers could be avoided as the temperatures rise as high as 42 degree Celsius in April and May.For this tourism day time is ideal. ISKCON Mayapur offers many dharamshalas and home stays for tourists. Ashrams are also available. If possible, try to get accommodation in ISKCON Mayapur guest house as they are very comfortable, reasonably priced and offers a very soothing ambience.

In the evening in Summer Season is awesome.
Winter i.e November to February is the best time for this visiting ISKCON Mayapur.For this tourism day time is ideal.ISKCON Mayapur offers many dharamshalas and home stays for tourists. 1.Chandrodaya Temple:Established under Lord Mahaprabhu, the temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. It has an exhibition section showcasing the life and work of Shree Chaitanya.
2.Yoga Peeth: This temple is the birth place of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and the structure is built in white marbled towers 30 m high. Yoga Peeth in ISKCON Mayapur is a center of excellence teaching Yoga, Vedas and meditation.
3.Sri Chaitanya Math:Founded by Acharya of the Gaudiya Math named Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Maharaja, the Math is dedicated to Radha Govinda and has four altars dedicated to the Vaishnava acharyas namely Sri Nimbarka, Sri Madhvacarya, Sri Ramanujacarya and Sri Visnuswami.
4.Sri  Devananda Gaudiya Math: Sri Gaura Gadadhara Gaudiya Math, is an ancient temple situated at Champahatti in one of the islands in Navadvipa known as Koladvipa, was established by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Maharaja. It is home to Lord Gaura and Gadadhara.
5.Chand Kazi’s Samadhi: Chand Kazi, a person with Islamic faith, was the magistrate of Navadvipa who opposed the Harinam Sankirtana movement in ISKCON Mayapurr and broke the mridanga of Srivash Pandit, who led the Sankritana.
6.Other Temple: Other important temples in Navadvipa includes Radharani temple which mysteriously appeared on one of the islands, Shonar Gauranga Temple which is dedicated to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and has a golden statue of Sri Chaitanya and the Sri Mahaprabhu Temple which is located at Srivasa Angan, which is believed to be the birthplace of Harinama-sankirtana and is very close to Yoga Peeth.
