Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area in foot hills of Himalayas.It located in Alipurduar Sub-division of Jalpaiguri District in West Bengal along side the river Torsa.There are few exotic are rare species which can be seen there the main attraction of the sanctuary is Asiatic one-horned rhinoceros.The list also includes Royal Bengal Tigers, elephants, deers, sambhar, barking deer, spotted deer and hog deer, wild pig and bisons.The sanctuary is also considered to be a hot spot for bird watchers.Birds found here are the Crested Eagle, Pallas’s Fishing Eagle and shikra, besides Jungle fowl, peafowl, patridges, Bengal Florican and lesser Pied Hornbill. The three cities are located in Nadia District.his is the birth place of Mahaprabhu Sri Chaitanya.Mayapur is the headquarter of ISKON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness). Kali Ghat temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peeth in India.Kalighat was a Ghat (landing stage) sacred to Kali on the old course of the Hooghly river in the city of Calcutta.As the time passed the river moved away from the Main Temple.The temple is visited by pilgrims from all over India.The thousands of pilgrims who visits daily to the Kalighat temple treat Kali very much like a human mother, bringing her their domestic problems and prayers for prosperity.
Mirik Lake is the biggest natural lake in West Bengal.Originally the lake was named Sumendu lake.It is one of the main attraction.Most people know this lake as Mirik Lake.As heard from the locals that the lake was named after a fish which was found in lake named Mrigal.But no such evidence was found later on.There is a arched footbridge named Indreni Pull (Rainbow Bridge) over the lake.The length of the bridge is 80 metres.You can also do paddle boating over there.
